This, the debut single from Santa Monica’s Cayucas, was released mid-October via Midwest indie Secretly Canadian, but is a welcome discovery at the end of what has been a dreary month, even by British standards. An influx of west coast vibes and a permeating aura of California sunshine is just what the doctor ordered to cut through this dismal London grey.
With his loose conversational delivery and an infectious bouncing rhythm as backdrop, Zach Yudin channels his major influences (namely the Beach Boys) in creating a tropical ocean of upbeat, sparkling beach pop – slap on the headphones, close your eyes and escape the winter for just a few more minutes.
